Iranian Leila Esfandyari has died while descending Gasherbrum 2. She and a few others had made the summit of Gasherbrum 2, one of the 8000m mountains. On the way to camp 3 she fell and died.
Last year she went to K2 and tried unsuccessfully to climb it.

No she didn’t summit K2. She tried last year on K2. She did make the summit of Gasherbrum 2 though recently.

She did summit Nanga Parbat though. A similar mountain in difficulty as K2.
