On Monday 22nd August four climbers will set off for the summit of K2, the most prized mountain for climbers in the world. Critical to their success will be the weather. One could say that the main reason that so many climbers don’t make the summit of K2 is that the weather is so bad and they have to take the opportunity when it presents itself.
But the forecast for Monday is very good. Both Mountain Forecast and Meteoexploration predict very good weather for when they make the summit attempt. Light winds are forecast for Monday and clear skies.
