Zaluski struggled during last descent on K2

After setting up camp 4 at 7900m the descent proved to be more tiring for one of the members. While descending between camps 3 and 2, Darius Zaluski sat down and rested and told the others to go on without him.

Both Maxut Zumayev and Vassiliy Pivtsov though did not leave him. There was a risk of avalanches and they knew it was best not to leave him there and let him get down by himself. Once he got up he was fine going down to the other camps.

Zaluski is 52 years old. Maxut Zumayev says that he is made of rock and is extremely tough.

At the moment Zaluski is resting at base camp at about 3800m. This is then lowest camp of the expedition.
