Christian Stangl has arrived in Pakistan for another attempt on K2. He is on his way to Askole which is the last major stopping point before the trek to K2. It is expected that he will take 4 days to get to the base camp.
Joining Stangl will be a photographer from Austria. More than likely he will also be carrying a video recorder like he did on Kangchenjunga to prone it if he makes the summit of K2.
The team will be complete when Stangl and the photographer arrive. It will consist of Fabrizio Zangrilli, Kinga Baranowska, Christian Stangl, Frenchmen Bruno Buchet, and Jack Teler from Poland.
This will be Stangl’s fourth year going to K2. Last year he famously faked making the summit of K2.
