Rob Springer has been acclimatizing on Broad Peak by going up to camp 2. He also tried to get to camp 3 but the foul weather made him and others turn back. Winds were up to 60km/h and there were snow gusts too.
He said that he chose not to wear his high performance gear for this climb but rather save it for when he attempts K2. So he did not have his warmest gloves or boots for this climb. Despite this he fared as well as the other climbers. He was feeling quite strong even to camp 2.
It looks like he is using Broad Peak for acclimatization before moving onto K2 shorty. He is part of the Field Touring Alpine expedition to Broad Peak and K2. At the moment they have their attention on Broad Peak. But the weather has prevented anyone going past camp 3. They are hoping for a weather window mid week.
