Field Touring Alpine’s K2 expedition officially over

Field Touring Alpine has officially called their expedition to K2 over. Now that all of their members have left K2 base camp and have arrived at a city or their homes then it was time to call it. The last to leave was Fabrizio Zangrilli.

Now that this expedition is over they have started planning for the expeditions during the Fall. The next mountain they will lead an expedition on is Cho Oyu starting on September 5. This mountain is not far from Everest and is considered the easiest of the 8000m mountains. After that they plan to go to Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and Everest base camp.

Fabrizio will be going to Kathmandu soon to join Chris Szymiec who is already there. These are there expedition leaders.

In 2011 they will return to the Karakorams when they attempt Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak and Gasherbrum 2. They may come back to K2 in 2011 but it is yet to be decided.
