Chris Warner is going to give a talk at the University of Wyoming in memory of alumnus who died in 2006. It is in memory of Todd Skinner who died while climbing in Yosemite National Park in 2006.
The lecture will be called, “Ascending the World’s Most Dangerous Mountain: K2.” In 2007 Warner led a successful expedition to K2. He himself made it to the summit on the 20th of July 2007.
He had previously tried to climb the mountain in 2002 and 2005. A mixture of bad weather, extreme avalanche dangers, and accidents ended the 2002 expedition. In 2005 a blizzard stopped his progress. It dropped 3 feet of snow, and the wind blew 70 mph. He had reached 23,200 feet.
