Reinhold Messner has no desire to climb K2 again

Reinhold Messner has said in an interview that he has not the desire for some of the more ambitious adventures that he used to do. Included in these adventures he said that he no longer had the desire to climb K2 again.

He said in the interview that there were 2 real near death experiences for him on the highest mountains. The first was on Kangchenjunga. He was in a tent above 8000m and the tent was in tatters. There was a 120km/h wind battering the tent, which was on a narrow ledge. The other time he nearly died was on Nanga Parbat in 1970. His brother died on that trip.

Messner is now 65 years old and yet said that he feels younger than his age.
