Wilco van Rooijen to talk about 2008 K2 experience

Wilco van Rooijen will give a talk to NEC Philips on the 7th of October. The day will conclude with a talk from this mountaineer. Part of his talk will be about his survival on K2 in 2008.

He survived against the odds after bivouacking at over 28000 feet on K2 in 2008. He became lost on the mountain on the way down. He was rescued several hundred meters away from camp 3, well off where he should have been. He lost all of his toes, but he considers himself lucky that he didn’t fare worse. Had the wind been stronger, he believes, than he might have lost his ears and nose to frostbite.

Recently Wilco van Rooijen published a book called – Surviving K2.
